I used this personal project to explore and experiment with mixed media animation. For the video I have hand painted over printed frames to play with textures, colours and shapes.

For the music video I wanted to create an abstract animation that captures the movement of the music with lines and shapes. I have interpreted the song as a person’s journey beginning through experiences rising to a final enlightened and euphoric state. For me, a concept like this is best captured in an abstract form giving scope for multiple personal interpretations.

This mixed media animation was one of my first experiments with mixing video and art. For the video I have used a mix of illustrations and lettering to visualise the lyrics and the music.

'Wait’ is a 2D animated mixed media visualisation of a poem I wrote a while back. I have played with an abstracted shape to personify ‘wait’, using this concept I have also tried implement the twelve principles of animation with this project.

Not Just Yet - Rotoscoped Music Video

Not Just Yet is a rotoscoped animated music video for Petriwave.
The inspiration behind the music for the artist was the the particular stretch of scenic drive they had. The animation is rotoscoped over the Dashcam footage from that very drive, with a visual interpretation of the emotive sense of the music.

Finding Happiness - Mixed Media Animation

This animated video was a personal lockdown project during the pandemic.
With a poem about finding happiness in the mundane I have taken videos of activities around the house and painted over them digitally.
